What is Healthy Tasmania?
The Healthy Tasmania Five-Year Strategic Plan 2022–2026 (the Plan) is the Government's plan for preventive health in Tasmania. The Plan guides preventive health activity across government and with communities and supports people to live healthier lives and participate more fully in daily life.
Healthy Tasmania's vision is for all Tasmanians to have the opportunity to live healthy, active lives in communities that support connections to people, place and culture.
To achieve this vision, we are working together across all levels of government and the community to address the wider factors that influence health and wellbeing.
The plan covers eight focus areas of health and wellbeing. These include priority populations, health literacy, mental health and wellbeing, active living, eating well, being smoke free, and reducing harmful alcohol use and climate change and health.
We use an equity lens to support all Tasmanians to access the resources and opportunities they require for good health and wellbeing.
The Government has committed $10 million over five years to implement the Plan and an additional $8 million over four years for the Healthy Tasmania Fund.

Grant programs
The Healthy Tasmania Fund is a grant program for the Tasmanian community to support health and wellbeing.

Research and Evaluation
Measuring our progress is important. The Menzies Institute for Medical Research, University of Tasmania. Hobart have developed a Research and Evaluation Framework. The Framework guides activities that measure Healthy Tasmania's progress and helps us identify areas which need more attention or how we could do better.
